MILKANA MESKIN and KIRIL MESKIN
COLOUR AND STONE
painting and sculpture
14–29 September 2026
Arte Gallery is pleased to open its new autumn art season with an exceptionally intriguing, artistically accomplished and unexpected exhibition. The exhibition ‘COLOUR AND STONE’ introduces the public to the work of a father and daughter – the established sculptor Kiril Meskin and his daughter, the artist Milkana Meskin. Whilst Kiril Meskin’s perfect and masterful work with stone is well known to connoisseurs, Milkana Meskin’s paintings will surprise and delight the public with a veritable explosion of colours and forms.
The event will also feature the launch of the book “THE MAGIC OF COLOURS IN LIFE” by Milkana Meskin. The book reflects her more than 25 years’ experience in researching chromatic perceptions and presents her proprietary system, the “Colour Algorithm”. Speaking of her deep connection with art and colours, Milkana Meskin says: “I can no longer remember which came first – me or the colours. Perhaps they created me. I have always been guided by a deep and boundless sense of fulfilment and wholeness. I encountered it in the art of ancient civilisations and later during a month-long stay in Japan. I graduated from the National Academy of Arts with a master’s degree in ‘Influence of Colours’. Over the years, I have developed a multidimensional, original system that combines theory and practice, with a wholly individual approach. I have called it the ‘Colour Algorithm’.”
In the book’s foreword, Professor Stanislav Pamukchiev writes: “Milkana has recounted her wonder at and love for colours, weaving the algorithm of her life into the algorithm of colours. The passion of this journey—as poetic as it is scientific and theoretical—lies in the psychological depths of chromatic perceptions. Milkana wanders enchanted through colourful universes, charting the colourful map of life. On these journeys, she also encounters Michel Albert-Vanel with his studies on the I Ching, Tibetan mandalas and the planetary chromatic system.
Throughout the narrative, personal emotional, psychological and spiritual experience is interwoven with the efforts and determination to delve theoretically into the absolute nature of the phenomenon of colour. Intuitive insight merges with a fundamental understanding of symbolism and spiritual content; lyrical revelation spins rhythmically in a dance with the cool detachment of analysis. The physical and emotional dissolution into the vibrations of colour leads to an intuitive penetration into spiritual vision. Milkana’s research has developed a practical method based on the idea that every person has an ‘innate colour code’ and that ‘the answers to all their questions lie within their colour chart’. On this basis, she creates an individual colour-number chart and a calendar for life synchronisation.
‘Milkana breathes colours as a life-giving force, leading us to her salvation.’
This exhibition reveals the remarkable artistic spirit of the Meskin family, driven by a longing for exquisite colour and perfect form. Tireless and wise, Kiril Meskin stands firmly with his own distinctive, recognisable style, and now Milkana stands beside him – a worthy daughter and kindred spirit.
