Lyuben Genov was born on November 18, 1966, in the town of Oryachovo, Bulgaria. He became member of the Union of Bulgarian Artists in 2001, and in 2002 was among the winners of the competition organized by the UBA to attend specialization courses at the Cité internationale des arts, Paris. From 2008 to 2011 he was a member of the Managing Council of the UBA and in charge of exhibition activities of the Union. From 2011 to 2021, Lyuben Genov was Chairman of the UBA.

To Lyuben Genov, the act of creativity is a test and opportunity to get immersed in a process through which he could provoke, reveal and enrich the multiple dimensions of his emotional/psychological and spiritual life. Prior to obtaining the tangibility of artistic flesh, these paintings were borne and experienced as thrill and excitement, as emotional and spiritual movement! Artistic achievement means free intuition and efficient self-control in a process where the movement of the plasticity modules, color intensity and its mastering, painting and tonal vibes are the projection of a cultivated/uncultivated reaction/experience. Paints trickle down, splashes are superimposed and boundaries get blurred, following their own inherent inner motion, and accumulate “biography”, before achieving their own independent and self-contained artistic existence.
