The Gentle Rain of Gazdov Global Graphics 2026

07-23.01.2026

The works of Ivan Gazdov presented here are not graphic art, and even less so poster art. They are not collages, although they do contain collage elements. They are not graphics in the “traditional,” banal sense. They are something else, global graphics – a powerful synthesis.

Gazdov’s personal spiritual explosions are shared through the medium he masters best – to perfection: imagery. They are thought out with total aesthetic and intellectual discipline, banishing all extraneous noise. Gazdov’s images are “pressed” into dry matter. His meticulous attention to every detail is astonishing. The result is that every centimeter is in its own harmony, like a chord in tune with the harmony of the whole picture with its non-aggressiveness and its delicacy.

The entire structure is held together like a network of vibrating energies emitted by all things in this world—both animate and seemingly inanimate: directed toward all others and permeated by the energies of everything else.

That is why rain appeals to Gazdov. Because it connects the earth, water, sky, life, man – everything and the whole. This is – only at first glance – strange in the context of his complete indifference to nature. Gazdov paints solely from his imagination. However, their naive creative impulse is strictly disciplined to crystallise the simple and beautiful. The complicated phenomena of the cult of the ugly and the sad are countered by humour and the simplicity of the longing for joy and happiness. Among his works, as Yasen Antov says, the air in the salon becomes easy to breathe, and one is filled with light.

Gazdov calls his humour “coquettish”, mainly to distinguish it from vulgarity, mockery, cynicism, or malice. His rainy faces exude kindness and tenderness: they are charged with humanity. Although filled with emotional and intellectual bitterness, they are a textbook on humanism for advanced learners. He makes people feel that they can be what they should be. Gazdov is truly an advocate of creation and a defender of the Creator.
