Born in 1937 in Romania, she was educated at the Bucharest Academy in Fine Arts in 1963 under the famous Romanian painter Corneliu Baba. After marrying a Bulgarian fellow student – the painter Georgi Petrov, she moved permanently to Bulgaria. Here she made her name as a painter and a regular participator in the annual exhibitions.
Deeply rooted in Bulgarian and Romanian rural life she has a unique connection to Bulgarian painterly tradition and found her emotional themes in the marginal life of peasant women of the Danube valley.
Aneta Draguseanu is a holder of significant number of awards – 2018 – price for painting from the city of Kjustendil, 2014 – Samokov price for painting just to name the very recent.
